In the money call Options are contracts with a Strike Price that is less than the current market value of the Underlying asset or commodity. By contrast, in the money puts are Options contracts with a Strike Price higher than the current value of the Underlying.
In the money Options have Intrinsic Value since they can be exercised at a price which is favourable compared with the current market value.
Options which are considerably in the money will trade increasingly closer to the value of the Underlying instrument as they get closer to Expiration. The extent to which they are in the money (or not) is referred to as Moneyness.
